The Double-Hand course is intended for new sailors that are not quite as young as members of the Pram group. Sailors in this group will not only learn the basics of dinghy sailing, but also explore sailing with a partner.

What a day in the Double-Hand Sailing program is like
A day in the Double-Hand program starts off with boat rigging, into a group fitness session, followed by a short on-land lesson.
Sailors go for a morning sail with drills focused on practicing the topics covered on land.
After lunch, the group will have a new lesson with a different focused water-session, and end the day with de-rigging and a debrief.
What do sailors learn?
Sailors in the Double-Hand group are not expected to come into the program with any prior knowledge of how to sail. Sailors in this program will learn the basics of sailing, such as the points of sail, how to tell the direction of the wind, and how to traverse both towards and away from the wind.
The later parts of this course will cover more complicated aspects of sailing to help prepare sailors for learning how to race.
Equipment needed
In addition to food, water, sunglasses, a hat, sunsreen and other personal items, sailors need to bring their own:
